The Doreen the Valiente Foundation and the Centre for Pagan Studies, in collaboration with Children of Artemis, have organised the historic occasion when a commemorative blue plaque for Gerald Gardner will be unveiled at the house in which he lived.
Here is the timetable for the event:
2pm: Meet at the Clifftop Car Park (the Crow’s Nest), off Wharncliffe Road, by the Cliff Hanger Cafe.
4pm: Procession via Mill House (pictured above) where Gerald Gardner was initiated, to the house where the Father of Modern Wicca lived. This will culminate in the unveiling of the blue plaque.
4:30pm: A chance to socialise over refreshments, including Gerald Gardner cupcakes - made specially for the day. There will be stalls selling food and drink.
6pm - 8pm: Music and talk at Highcliffe Castle. There will be entertainment from Damh the Bard and a talk by Philip Heselton, author of Witchfather: A Life of Gerald Gardner.
The procession and plaque unveiling is free to attend and has been funded by donations to the Doreen Valiente Foundation. Tickets for the evening cost £5. To book an evening ticket visit the website: www.geraldgardnerblueplaque.eventbrite.com
