Event in Mexico: Carnival for Witches Holiday Tour

I don't normally list events outside the UK, but I was sent details of a tour celebrating Mexico's Wiccan and occult traditions and it was too good not to mention. Borderline Projects, which organises unusual cultural and artistic events is promoting a tour celebrating Mexico's Wiccan and occult traditions, which takes place in spring of this year. Here are the details from the press release I was sent:
On March 2019, join us in Mexico City for a special tour: A CARNIVAL FOR WITCHES. We will join the festivities planned for the Veracruz Carnival, which includes parades, music, street performances, and much more. The port of Veracruz was the traditional point of entry during Mexico’s Colonial period and well into the late nineteen hundreds. Home to a large Native American population since the time of the Ancient Olmec culture, the state of Veracruz saw a great influx of immigrants during the Colonial period, mostly from Europe and Africa, which gave rise to a vibrant, multicultural society. The practices, religions, and beliefs brought by people from Africa formed the basis of a mix that incorporated some native traditions, and was later mixed with Spanish Catholicism. To this day, the rich history and powerful presence of brujería in Veracruz attracts many visitors, who have labelled the town of Catemaco the Mecca of Witchcraft in Mexico.
The itinerary takes in Mexico City, the Veracruz Carnival, La Antigua and Catemaco. You can find out more at: www.borderlineprojects.com Email info@borderlineprojects.com to reserve a space.
