The final episode of the TV series Around the World in 80 Faiths is on BBC1 at 9pm this evening.
It should be an interesting programme, because the presenter, Church of England Reverend Peter Owen Jones, returns to Europe. He looks at new age temples in Italy and Norwegian shamans as well as the darker aspects of his own religion's history, including intolerance, persecution and death.
I don't know if he will cover the historic persecution of witches, but it will be interesting to see if he does.
On the whole I have been very impressed with the BBC series and with Peter Owen Jones' skill in conversing with people of many different - and sometimes very strange - beliefs. I am looking forward to this episode and hope he tackles issues involving European paganism, shamanism and new age religion with his usual sensitivity.
Programmes on BBC TV Channels are usually available to watch on iPlayer for at least a week after they are shown: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/
