Pagan events in and near London

Here are events in London - and a couple elsewhere - for the coming week that could be of interest to pagans. They include several midwinter and yuletide open rituals next weekend. If you know of an event that you want listed, please email the details to me at badwitch1234@gmail.com.

Now to Sunday 9 September 2012; Mummers, Maypoles and Milkmaids. Free exhibition, coinciding with the publication of the book of the same name, bringing together 50 photographs of regional rituals performed throughout the year from Cornwall to Northumberland to mark the changing seasons and celebrate nature's bounty. Wednesday, 14 December; Talk at Pagan forum The Moot with No Name. Venue: The Cartoonist, 76 Shoe Lane, London EC4A 3JB (this a change from the usual venue). Meet from 7.30pm, event starts at 8pm. Admission £5. Visit http://www.theatlantisbookshopevents.com/

Saturday 17 December; Free and Open Gorsedd of Caer Abiri Winter Solstice (Alban Arthan) celebration at Avebury Sun Circle, in Avebury, Wiltshire. Open druidic style ceremony to mark the winter solstice. Meet at the Red Lion Pub, Avebury, around noon for rite at around 2pm, ending around 3.30pm. Bring bread, cakes and drink to share, bring poetry to read.

Sunday 18 December; Outdoor Yule / Winter Solstice Ritual with Hern’s Tribe in woods in Croydon. Time: 2.30pm - 6pm. Meet at 2.30pm at Coombe Lane tram stop in Croydon. Sunday 18 December; Anderida Gorsedd Winter Solstice open ritual at the Long Man of Wilmington, Sussex. Meet near the car park between 1.30pm and 2pm for a walk up to the chalk hill figure at 2pm. Afterwards back to the Giants Rest pub in Wilmington for a social drink together.

Sunday, 18 December; Dawn of the Oak. Monthly moot on the third Sunday of each month that aims to provide a casual, safe and friendly environment for pagans to meet and learn from each other. Location: The Castle, 34-35 Cowcross Street, Farringdon, London EC1M 6DB Time: 3pm - 6pm.
