Eastbourne Lammas Festival - Wet But Fun!

Us Brits know how to make the most of a festival in the rain.

It was sunny and warm this morning so I decided to ignore the weather forecast for heavy rain and set of for the Eastbourne Lammas Festival. But as soon as I arrived a wind whipped up from the sea, followed by torrential rain. As you can see from the photos pretty much everyone ran for the beer tent, where the atmosphere was extremely friendly even if there was hardly room to raise one's beer to one's lips.

The band that had been on the main stage next to the beer tent even turned the whole set-up sideways, then the side flaps of the tents were opened so they could continue to play and everyone sheltering could hear them.

The rain cleared after about half an hour and clear skies returned. The sun came out it the heat soon steamed away the puddles.

Eastbourne Lammas Festival continues on Sunday 28 July. It is on the Western Lawns, Eastbourne Seafront West, King Edwards Parade, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 4EE. Entry is free. http://www.lammasfest.org/
