Sunday 2 February; Anderida Gorsedd Imbolc open ritual and annual Eisteddfod in honour of Brighid for the title of Chief Bard of Anderida 2014. Venue: Long Man of Wilmington, Wilmington, near Eastbourne, East Sussex. Meet near the car park between 1.30pm and 2pm, walk up to the chalk hill figure at 2pm. Afterwards, the Giants Rest pub.

Sunday 2 February; London's Chinese New Year Festival to celebrate the start of the Year of the Horse. Festivities start at 10am with New Year’s parade led by the Lucky Money God to Chinatown. Opening ceremony at noon in Trafalgar Square, followed by music and other entertainment until 6pm. There is more happening in Chinatown, including a dragon dance. Free, public event.
