TV: Celts, Faerie Queene, Witch Hunts, Trees, Harvest

It's a very good week on telly for programmes with a witchy, magical or pagan theme:

The Celts: Blood, Iron and Sacrifice Part 2
The second part of the documentary series about the Ancient Celts with Alice Roberts and Neil Oliver is on Monday night, 12 October, at 9pm on BBC2.

The Secret Life of Books: The Faerie Queene
In the first part of a new series about books, Janina Ramirez looks at Edmund Spenser's Elizabethan faerie poem. The Secret Life of Books: The Faerie Queene is on BBC4 at 8.30pm on Tuesday, 13 October.

Witch Hunt: A Century of Murder
A Channel 5 documentary at 9pm on Tuesday investigates the mass witch hunts that swept Britain 400 years ago. Dr Suzannah Lipscomb looks at Scotland's first witch trial and the Pendle trials among other witch hunts.

Disappearing Britain
Maureen Lipman goes tree-hugging in the New Forest at 9pm on Thursday, 15 October, on More4.

At 8pm on BBC2 for three nights this week, starting on Tuesday, Phillippa Forester and Gregg Wallace are celebrating this year's harvest of crops and talking to farmers across the country.
