What Books are in Your Reading Pile of Shame?

No, I'm not asking whether you've got a copy of 50 Shades or similar dubious fiction in your bookcase, I'm talking about the books you've got that you haven't read.

Back on the very first post on my blog, in November 2007, I said: "I inherited a vast library of occult tomes both from my grandma and my father and have read maybe one."

It is shameful to admit I still haven't read any of them. You can see me with some in a bookcase in the picture above. It is a photo taken in the early days of my blog when I was trying out images to use on it, which I rediscovered when I was going through old files on my computer.

I've also got a more recent pile of shame - including Leo Rising, which I was given to review last summer!

But I'm sure I'm not alone in having a stack of unread books.

What books are in your pile of shame?

To my shame too many to list, if I could walk past a second hand book shop I might have ended up a rich guy,in the past I often looked at them and said " I must get around to reading those" now I have reached the age where I say "I dont supose I will read all them" .

Yes, that's true for me too!

Too many to mention! I realised recently that I will never be able to read all the books I own, even if I live to 100!

Ann - perhaps we should spend our old age doing nothing but reading?

Me too! I was tempted by a display in a charity shop window.

Omg, so many i cant even count unfortunately. But sometimes a book just calls to be bought and its so difficult to say no. Haha, but I like to think that even if I cant ever do my dream vacation of locking myself in my house for a year to just read everything, the book will know my gesture was well meant and someday we will become intimate friends. XD

Wouldn't it be wonderful to spend a year on an island where you could just read all the books you keep meaning to read? Obviously there'd have to be a year's supply of food, fresh water, no dangerous animals and a comfy hammock - but I reckon that really would be paradise!
