What do you think of the Yule stocking advent calendar I knitted for my loved one? During lockdown I found that knitting and other forms of crafting were great ways to take my mind off my worries.
I rather enjoyed knitting these tiny little little socks, which used a free pattern on the Jean Greenhowe website. I used up scraps of wool, so it was an upcycling project - although I admit I bought the numbers that are stuck on the fronts. I hung them on an old cord and clipped them there with tiny wooden pegs. I crafted most of the little treats that are inside them too, but they are a secret at the moment. I'll blog further once they have been revealed.
Yes, I do realise that advent is a count down to Christmas rather than the Winter Solstice, but I don't mind. I celebrate in a pagan way on the 21st, but still enjoy festivities and good food on the 25th. What do you think?

Love it love it love it! I think I'll start knitting this for my grandson for next year. He's very special as well as totally blind, so the treats will have to be sensory - probably mostly chocolate, with a kazoo and a mini harmonica sneaked in somewhere!
Knitting those socks helped keep me sane during lockdown! It was very relaxing to just concentrate on knitting and not have to think about the problems in the world.
