In the class, I'll be reading aloud because guided visualisations are always best when someone else reads them for you. However, it is possible to use this post or a book and either record the words yourself or visualise as you see them.
Close your eyes. Take three deep breaths in and out and relax, then visualise the following:
Visualise you are in a beautiful garden. The sky is clear and the weather is good. You feel comfortable and safe. Look around, pay attention to what you can hear and, perhaps, the pleasant scents in the air.
You notice, at the end of the garden, a signpost indicating paths leading in three directions. One arrow points the way to the seashore, the second into woods, the last indicates a path leading to a meadow by a river and on into hills.
You feel sure that following one of these paths will lead you to something magical, a small natural object to serve as an amulet for luck and protection. Follow your chosen path. As you go, look around and see what landscape the path leads through, as well as what sounds you can hear and anything else your senses become aware of. Travel along the path and visualise your journey.
At last the path takes you to the place you chose: the seashore, deep into woods, or to a lovely meadow by a river, or beyond that into hills. Look around you again. What can you see? What can you hear? What else can you sense?
Look down, or up or around you. Many things might be interesting and worth looking at, but one small, natural thing especially catches your attention. You feel a tingle and know this is the magical object you have been searching for. Go up to it and look at it where it is.
Pick up the object and inspect it. It feels right and you know that it is okay for you to keep it. Study it more closely. Perhaps you sense something from the object. Know that this object was meant for you.
Now you must return back the way you came. Holding the object, go back along the path through landscape, retracing your route. Follow it back to the signpost and from there enter the garden once more. Take one last look around you, then look again at the object you are carrying. Remember what it looks like, what it feels like and anything else about it that is important.
When you feel you have studied the object enough, it is time to return to normality.Take a deep breath, shake your fingers and toes and open your eyes to the real world.
