Authors' 2025 Plans: Laura Perry on The Minoans

I'm interviewing authors on what books they have coming out this year and their other plans. Here I talk to Laura Perry about her forthcoming book in the Pantheons series and the events she has planned.

Q: What book have you got coming out next in 2025?

A: Pantheon - The Minoans is my contribution to the Moon Books' Pantheons series. I'm excited to add another title to this growing series.

Q: What’s it about?

A: Journey through the labyrinth to meet the Minoan deities of ancient Crete, who are still very much alive in the modern world! Pantheon - The Minoans is a thorough introduction to the Minoan pantheon, including deities many people will find familiar: Ariadne, Dionysus, Rhea, Eileithyia, Minos, the Minotaur, and many more. The book also includes the Minoan sacred calendar, a discussion of Minoan religion and culture, and an introduction to the Minoan spiritual practices that the inclusive group Ariadne's Tribe have revived in the modern world.

Q: When will it be published?

A: The release date is 26 August 2025, but the book is already available for preorder.

Q: What event or events are you planning around the launch?

A: I'll be a headliner at the PhoenixPhyre festival in Florida (USA) in March, presenting one workshop about inclusive Minoan spirituality and another about the labyrinth as well as running a Minoan ritual. I'll also be presenting a workshop about death and dying from a Minoan perspective and running a labyrinth-walking ritual at Mystic South Conference in Georgia (USA) in July. 

Q: Apart from your book, what are you currently working on?

A: I'm working on an illustrated book of modern Minoan myths. The publication date isn't set yet, but it will probably be released in late 2025.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to mention, including any of your previous books?

A: Pantheon - The Minoans is a great introduction to Minoan spirituality. For a deeper dive, I suggest my books Labrys and Horns and Ariadne's Thread. I've also written two Minoan-themed historical novels, The Last Priestess of Malia and Leap! A Love Story. Continuing the Minoan theme, I've created a Minoan coloring book based on actual Minoan art and artifacts (no AI or clipart) and a Minoan Tarot deck.
