Early blooms

Despite the cold weather of recent weeks, primroses have begun to bloom outside my house.

My front garden is something of a sun trap, but January still seems rather early for spring flowers.

I'm not an expert gardener so I don't know if this is particularly unusual and I'd be very interested to find out.

If you have seen primroses flowering elsewhere, let me know and leave a comment below on my blog.

Yes - it SHOULD be too early - but my primroses have been flowering on and off all year. They're currently in bud. That's global warming for you.

At least they look pretty.

I can't comment on primroses, but I have just seen the first daffodils of the year. On my walk down into the village, there's a little sun-trap -- a corner where two fences meet -- and there were three or four of them in bloom. Not just buds, either, fully in flower...

Wow, it seems *really* early for daffs!
