News: Glastonbury Thorn returns to life

The Holy Thorn of Glastonbury, which vandals chopped down last December, is springing back to life as new buds are sprouting.

The Glastonbury Thorn is a tree that, according to legend, sprouted from the staff of Joseph of Arimathea 2,000 years ago. It is remarkable because it blooms twice a year, usually at Christmas and Easter.

Although it is primarily a Christian symbol, people of many different faiths and spiritual paths regard the tree as sacred.
