Event: The Legacy Of Doreen Valiente

If you are a pagan living in the Nottingham area, one event that you won't want to miss is a talk called Ashley Mortimer - The Legacy Of Doreen Valiente, which is taking place on the evening of Wednesday, October 5.

Organised by the Centre For Pagan Studies, this evening event is being presented by Ashley Mortimer, one of the trustees of the collection of artefacts, magical tools and writings of Doreen Valiente. The collection, owned by the CFPS, also includes many items from the legacy of Gerald Gardner, the founder of modern Wicca.

Ashley will talk about the objects and the CFPS's plans for them. He will also be giving one of Doreen and Gerald’s first talks on witchcraft, which has not been heard since 1951.

The event starts at 7.30pm at The Empyrean, Maid Marian Way, Nottingham. Tickets cost £4. For more information or to buy tickets visit http://www.centre-for-pagan-studies.com/The photo above shows Dorien Valiente's altar pieces, which are in the collection owned by the CFPS

Oh, I so wish I could go! Doreen Valiente is my favourite Witch and occult author, and I treasure her books. I'm glad that her legacy lives on, and that her work and artifacts are still being seen.
