Pagan Eye: Snails in the Rain

Snails are only creatures in my garden that seem to love the relentless summer rain we've been having. They have been devouring my hollyhocks.

I don't like to use pesticides, so every day I've been collecting dozens of snails up in a bucket and transporting them across the road to a patch of overgrown wasteland. My neighbour saw me doing this the other evening and burst out laughing.

"They'll only march straight back to your garden," he said.

Judging by the amount of snails there are every day, maybe he's right.

My Pagan Eye posts show photos that I find interesting - seasonal images, pagan sites, events, or just pretty pictures.

If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself.

Definitely try the paint/nail varnish trick. I have heard before that they have a 'homing' instinct so you may be stuck with them unless you want to go down the beer trap route - I also have way too many but don't really like killing them.
