In particular, I think the medieval pewter chalice - pictured on the right – would look stunning on an altar filled with wine.
I have to say I’m rather a fan of pewter chalices and own a few myself already. I have one with a Celtic knotwork pattern on it. When I played the part of a Grail Maiden in a ritual drama, it was perfect to carry to represent the holy cup. I also have a plain pewter chalice that I usually take with me to pagan camps and festivals. I can't picture myself holding the chalice filled with wine and drink it simply because it is part of what priests do during masses. Looks kinda nice though which is good to have as a decoration at home.

I don't see the chalice of wine used in Wiccan rituals as being that different from the chalice used in Catholic masses. We might be honouring different gods, but there are parallels in the idea of sharing wine after a ceremony.
