Wednesday 1 January; Flame of Avalon New Year's Blessings for 2014. Venue: Glastonbury Goddess Temple and wherever you live in any part of the world. Time: 5pm (your time). From dusk on 1 January to dusk on 2 January, the Goddess Temple in Glastonbury will be keeping the Flame of Avalon alight. This flame was first lit at the 2004 Goddess Conference in Avalon, in Glastonbury, England. Keepers take it in turn to light their own candles from it and keep the flame alight, visualising spreading the light and love of the Lady of Avalon all over the world. You can take part too by lighting your own candle, ideally from a flame taken from the Flame of Avalon. Sunday 5 January; Twelfth Night with The Lions Part. Twelfth Night is an annual seasonal celebration held in the Bankside area of London with a mummers' play, storytelling and dancing. It is a celebration of the New Year, mixing ancient seasonal customs with contemporary festivity. Free event, just turn up from 2.30pm.
