Scotland Holiday: The Ring of Brodgar (or Brogar)

After my photos earlier today of a modern-day mini stone circle on a beach in Orkney, here are some pictures I took of Orkney's huge and ancient stone circle, the Ring of Brodgar.

The native Orcadians often spell the name of the famous Neolithic monument as Brogar or sometimes Ring o' Brodgar and I understand that is more accurate. The stone circle is within a henge and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Heart of Neolithic Orkney. It is truly impressive.

If you want to find out more about the Ring of Brodgar, follow the links at the bottom of this post.
