I'm abroad at the moment and missing out on all these great Yule & solstice celebrations. Is it just me, or are there a lot more of them now than a few years back? Promising sign!
Wish I was back home so I could go to one, but will try to do the best with what's going on in my (Orthodox) locale.
Looking outside today, the scenes quite ominous with the unseasonal weather; climate change is unquestionable now (not like anyone reading this blog probably ever had any questions about its reality). Still, I'm blown away by the realization that today, on the 2nd darkest day of the year, I feel the life inside the earth more powerfully than I have in a long time. I wonder if its the because so many people's thoughts are focused in it today... To me its never been so clear that the earth can and will still create, if only we let it. I hope that everyone ho is attending a rite this solstice will take some time think about how they can help that process of creation, and stop others from suppressing it, in the next year.
