Pagan Eye: Mistletoe Growing on an Apple Tree

I photographed this apple tree laden with mistletoe at the top of the meadow at Chalice Well Gardens, in Glastonbury, when I visited a couple of weeks ago. I don't think I have ever seen so much mistletoe on a tree before!

As I understand it, mistletoe doesn't harm the tree it grows on, but even so I couldn't help wondering what all that extra weight was doing to the branches. Nevertheless, it was an amazing sight. I sat under tree on a bench and enjoyed the view over the gardens in a brief spell of early spring sunlight before those grey clouds you can see in the picture rolled over.

My Pagan Eye posts show photos that I find interesting - seasonal images, pagan sites, events, or just pretty pictures. If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com. Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself.
