Crafty Recycling: A Useful Box to Put Things In
What do you think of my latest upcycling project? I needed a box to store candles and other witchy paraphernalia, which I could keep things in at home and also easily pop in the car. I also wanted something that could serve as a small altar for outdoor rituals.
A little tea chest caught my eye, but I didn't particularly want to be advertising rooiboswhile calling on the gods and goddesses of the starry heavens so I covered it in an old map of the sky at night. I used decoupagetechniques - cutting out shapes from the map to cover the top, bottom and sides, then sticking some of the leftover images from the map on top of that. Afterwards I varnished it and above is a photo of the finished item.

It's so pretty!
Thank you!
I love this - what a great idea. I really like that you used constellations. :) I bought a wooden box from the dollar store and plan to woodburn some designs on it for my things.
Lovely! How big is the box?
It is a small tea chest. The top is about 35cm square.
