Where to Watch the Sunset on Solstice Eve in London

If you're thinking of watching the sunset on the Summer Solstice Eve in London, here are some suggestions. The picture you can see at the top is one I took of the city skyline at dusk from One Tree Hill, in Honor Oak, Southwark, about 7 years ago. It's a great place to view both the sunset and the sunrise. Here are four other places in London that are recommended as good spots to watch the sunset at any time of the year, but Solstice Eve is a perfect time to do so:
  • Primrose Hill, Camden
  • Telegraph Hill Park, Brockley, Lewisham
  • Richmond Park, Richmond
  • Waterloo Bridge, London SE1
Primrose Hill and Richmond Park are also good for catching the sunrise too, if you fancy a shortest-night vigil. The actual moment of the Summer Solstice 2021 is on Monday, 21 June at 4.32am in London. Sunset on 20 June is 9.21pm and sunrise on 21 June is 4.23am.

If you know of a great spot in London to watch the sunrise or sunset that I haven't mentioned, do leave a comment.
