Today, Saturday October 9, is #BookshopDay, a countrywide celebration of everything that's good about British bookshops. To celebrate, uk.bookshop.org is offering free shipping for the whole day on any orders placed.
I'm mentioning this in particular because when I posted details of an offer on one of my books by the largest mainstream online book site, several people commented that they prefer to buy from independent stores. I completely agree that supporting local bookshops is ideal. That is precisely what uk.bookshop.org does, by offering an online platform where people can easily choose books and order them through a website, but know they are coming from an independent shop.
