Pagan Eye: Candle in Street Art for Imbolc & Candlemas

Here's a photo I took of one of my favourite pieces of local street art - a girl holding a candle, with an owl, against a starry night sky. I thought I'd share it at the start of February, as today is Imbolc and tomorrow is Candlemas. Both of these festivals can be celebrated by lighting a candle.

Quite a few years ago I blogged during Wheel of the Year festivals with photos I'd taken of appropriate street art in east London. Since then, my own community in SE20 has become famous for hundreds of murals painted with permission on people's walls, shop shutters and garden gates. So, I thought this year I'd post my favourites. A couple of weeks ago I reviewed a book called SprayExhibition20, on the street art of Penge, which you can read here.

My Pagan Eye posts show photos that I find interesting - seasonal images, pagan sites, events, or just pretty pictures. If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself.
