Like so many I was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Queen Elizabeth II yesterday afterrnoon. This morning I wrote a poem:
It was an ordinary day,
wet and grey,
when I heard them say
you died.So, it all changed
as the world lost
a woman,
someone's mother,
grandmother,
aunt,
friend...
Were you more than that?
Yes.You were our Queen.
A model for many,
but I doubt we'll see
your like again.
