Review: The Wicca Moon Goddess Oracle

Here are goddesses embodied by real women. The images are on the cards of the Wicca Moon Goddess Oracle, a new deck created by Shirlee Moon and artist Lottie Lou. It depicts the divine feminine from around the world, but includes a good number of female mythological figures from Britain and Ireland such as Sulis, The Morrigan and Cerridwen.

Most of the goddess oracles I've come accross have artwork that portrays deities as supermodels. That's always jarred with me. Divine energy can find a place within all of us, whatever our age or physical appearance.  If you pop into Shirlee's shop, Wicca Moon in Eltham, you might just recognise a few of the faces from the cards.

Shirlee expalined: "With this deck, I not only honour the Goddess, but also the many remarkable women I have in my life. Women who have faced difficulties, and have come through the other side with courage and reslience. Women I am pround to know. These sisters are depicted within each card."

In the artwork, Lottie has managed to capture both the likeness of the real women, but also the energy of each goddess. It really is a beautiful and powerful deck, and is full of magical symbolism. If you're an intuitive reader, then you'll have no difficulty using them that way.

There is a book that comes with the set, downloadable as a pdf. The cards come in a black box that includes a velvet bag. My set also came with some sticks of Wicca Moon's lovely Witching Hour incense - one of my favourite incenses to use when I'm doing divination.

The Wicca Moon Goddess Oracle currently costs £40. You can buy sets at the shop or online on this link: https://www.wiccamoonuk.com/shop/tarot-cards/wicca-moon-goddess-oracle/

Wicca Moon is at 50 Well Hall Rd, Eltham, London SE9 6SH, about a 5-minute walk from Eltham Station. As well as being a physical shop, Wicca Moon sells a huge range of items online including oracle and tarot cards. You can find out more here: https://www.wiccamoonuk.com/
