Pagan Eye: Witchy Flowers from a Self-Seeded Shrub

This photo of a curious flower was taken by my friend and fellow witch Jane Mortimer. She wrote:

"I never cease to wonder at this shrub that's self-seeded in the paving near my front door.  It's called Leycesteria Formentera Purple Rain, and the flowers are amazing. The purple part is made of bracts, and the white bells take on a pale pink tinge against them.  Later in the year, they form big purple berries.  I think the bracts and flowers look very witchy, don't you?"

Yes, I agree they look witchy indeed!  If anyone else has photos of witchy flowers, please share them too.

My Pagan Eye posts show photos that I find interesting - seasonal images, pagan sites, events, or just pretty pictures.

If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself.

The photo is copyright Jane Mortimer.
