Pagan Eye: Art Comparing Roman & Japanese Temples

This photo shows the central display at Performance of Entrapment, an exhibition of parallels between the Roman Temple of Mithras in London and Ise Jingu shrine in Japan. It is a constantly changing sphere, surrounding by other items relating to both sites. The art is the creation of Jane and Louise Wilson and is currently on at Bloomberg Space, 12 Walbrook, London, EC4N 8AA.

The gallery is above the actual remains of the Roman Temple of Mithras, which you can also visit while you are there. If you haven't already been to that, I thoroughly recommend going. It includes information about the history of the sacred space and a sound and light display. It's free to enter both the art exhibition and the temple. You can find out more here: https://www.londonmithraeum.com/

On each Pagan Eye post, I show a photo that I find interesting, with a few words about it. I'm not quite sure what I'll be including - it could be a seasonal image, a pagan site, an event, or just a pretty picture. If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself and you must confirm that you are submitting it for A Bad Witch's Blog.
