Who cares for the carers?

Caring seems to be the theme of my blog this week, so I thought I would try to find the god or goddess of caring as The Bad Witch's Deity of the Week.

But, so far, I haven't been able to find one. I'm sure there must be a pagan deity with that remit - there seem to be gods and goddess for pretty much everything - I simply haven't discovered them despite an hour of Googling.

There are plenty of gods and goddesses of healing, including the Celtic Dian-Cecht and the Egyptian Isis, goddess of magic and motherhood as well as healing, but none specifically for carers. The closest I managed to find was the Catholic patron saint of carers - St Roch (1295 - 1327), who cared for plague victims and apparently brought about miraculous cures.

So, instead of offering a Bad Witch's Deity of the Week, I'm asking a question - is there one? If you can tell me who they are, please leave a comment!

Doh! Silly me. I use Godchecker all the time - it must the site I use most often for my God or Goddess of the week. For some reason I didn't use it this week. The lack of sleep must be getting to me...
