Non-pagans often ask me why I celebrate Christmas when I'm not Christian.
Well, as a pagan, the Midwinter Solstice - on 22 December - is the time for spiritual rites to honour the rebirth of the sun in the middle of winter, but the festive break at Christmas is still a great holiday as far as I am concerned. It is time to spend with family and loved ones.
If you can't actually be with them, you can at least get in touch. So this Christmas Eve, think of all those people you would love to say hello to but perhaps haven't posted a Christmas Card to, then give them a phone call. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you!
Happy Christmas!
