Pagan Eye: A Wicker Woman

After last week's picture of a wicker man, here's a wicker woman - or wicker Gaia.

The lovely photo was taken by Carolien Avalynn who lives in the Netherlands and writes the blog Avalynn Sfeer & magie.

She said: "We have a wickerman in our pagan inspired festival in Lisse in the Netherlands every year at Lughnasadh and this time it was so awesomely pretty! Many people put their little offerings inside the wickergaia's belly before she was set on fire. The music, clapping and cheering of such a big audience is always very thrilling :)"

Thanks for sending me the great image Carolien!

My Pagan Eye posts show photos that I find interesting - seasonal images, pagan sites, events, or just pretty pictures.

If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself.

Note: The photo is copyright Carolien Avalynn and is reproduced here with her permission. Please do not download it, copy it or use it anywhere else without her permission.
