Pagan Eye: The Building of a Wicker Man

Here's a picture of a Wicker Man under construction at Butser Ancient Farm, in Hampshire. The photo was taken by Alex Stanton in the run-up to May Day last year and she kindly let me post it on my blog.

Butser Ancient Farm, which is an experimental archaeology site as well as a fantastic place to visit, hosts a traditional Beltane celebration every year.  This year it will be burning its Wicker Man on Sunday 5 May at the end of a day of music and festivities. Tickets are £13 for adults in advance and £15 on the door. For more details, visit http://www.butserancientfarm.co.uk/

My Pagan Eye posts show photos that I find interesting - seasonal images, pagan sites, events, or just pretty pictures. If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself.

I really hope no virgins or 'kings for a day' turn up to festivities!
