Dew of Heaven Exhibition at the Witchcraft Museum

This is a photo I took showing a corner of the exhibition The Dew of Heaven: Objects of Ritual Magic. It is on until the end of the summer at the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle, Cornwall.

I've been in Boscastle for the museum's annual conference, which was on the same subject as the exhibition. I'm really glad I attended it because it helped me understand the objects on display in much greater depth. In particular, I learnt a lot about the robes and tools used by members of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and their significance in ceremonies.

I also learnt that Cecil Williamson, founder of the museum, really liked Aleister Crowley. He had commissioned numerous paintings and designs for displays from Steffi Grant, who along with her husband Kenneth Grant, continued Aleister Crowley's magical tradition.

I'm going to be blogging more about the conference over the next week or so, but right now I am about to head back to London after a great week's holiday. I spent last weekend in Glastonbury, then a few days on Dartmoor, then a truly magical weekend in Boscastle.
