Pagan Eye: Wildflowers Growing Around a Parked Car


The verge over the road from my house, next to a row of parking bays, is full of wildflowers. The grass there hasn't cut since lockdown started, which is great for nature. Perhaps not so good for my neighbour if he leaves his car much longer, as these thistles and ragwort are starting to grow over it, but less traffic on the roads is also good for the environment.

I called the yellow plant 'ragwort', because that's what I think it is, but there are quite a few yellow flower that look similar, so if I am wrong, please correct me. Ragwort is mildly poisonous to cattle and horses if they eat it, but is great for insects and butterflies - and I have been seeing a lot of butterflies around my house recently. Another name for ragwort is 'stinking willy', because the leaves smell a bit like a....
