Poetry of Witchcraft: A Spell for Understanding

Social media can be a place where arguments arise because we only see words written without all the meaning that was intended by whoever initiated the post. I wrote this poem as a little spell that could be said for better understanding in all varieties of typed communication:

May I Think Before I Type

May I think before I type,
consider how my words will feel
falling on the tender eyes
of those who read them.

I do not know what tears
they have shed, or what
other sadness they,
in their life, look on

May I think before I type.
May I be gentle as I write.
May the keys I touch open
only ways to understanding.
