A few weeks ago I saw a red velvet sofa dumped in the street outside my house and I fell in love with it even though it was torn and tatty. A kind passer-by helped me get it into my witchy room and I gave it a clean. Ever since, I've been thinking of ways to repair it and make it useable.
I could, of course, pay for it to be re-upholstered professionally, but that would be expensive. I also like it as it is. The torn fabric on the arm is the main thing that needs fixing. There's a small rip below the seat, and another at the back. It's also missing cushions. So, I decided I'd patch it where needed using a contrasting colour to make a feature out of the mends. I also want seat cushions the same colour as the patches.
Then I did a bit of manifesting magic.
I sent my wishes into the universe for blue, green or black velvet at an affordable price. I'm delighted to say it worked! Yesterday I found a perfect bolt of turquoise furnishing fabric in a charity shop for just £8! Wow!
This month's crafting project is going to be starting to get this sofa looking just the way I want it. I'll report on my progress.
