Here is a photo of Julian's Bower Maze in Alkborough, North Lincolnshire, taken by Claire Wickham. She kindly sent it to me after I mentioned I had walked a labyrinth at the Mind Body Soul event in London last weekend.
Although Julian's Bower is called a maze, it is really a labyrinth because it only has a single path from the entrance to the centre. No one knows the true age or origins of the turf-cut labyrinth, although it dates at least as far back as the 13th century and local folklore says it is far more ancient.
