Pagan Eye: Hawthorn and Blackthorn Blossom

This picture was sent in by BlackPeppermint, who said: "I thought you might like this photo of Hawthorn and Blackthorn blossoming together, indistinguishable. We are lucky to have a small grass field behind our house that we can walk in."

Very lucky indeed - and a great photo. Thanks very much!

Hawthorn and blackthorn are both trees with white blossom that are considered heralds of spring and warmer weather. However, blackthorn usually flowers before hawthorn.

My Pagan Eye posts show photos that I find interesting - seasonal images, pagan sites, events, or just pretty pictures.

If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself.

The photo is copyright BlackPeppermint and is used with permission here.
