In the Rider-Waite- Smith deck, a woman is shown stroking the lion and gently opening his mouth. It sometimes gets humorously called the card about giving a cat a pill! That might be intended as a bit of a joke, but actually this card can represent healing too.
The deck I used was the Victorian Steampunk Tarot by Liz Dean and Bev Speight and in this set the lion is shown bearing a rose in its mouth. As we approach Beltane, I'm getting a sense of the passion of love and sexual energy.
This is also a card about facing our fears and knowing that we have the strength to not only deal with our problems, but even to befriend our adversaries.
You can view the Victorian Steampunk Tarot tarot on Amazon and you can read my review of here: http://www.badwitch.co.uk/2014/03/review-victorian-steampunk-tarot.html

That's an interesting looking deck! Yes we could all do with some strength right now.
