The card I drew was the Knight of Cups, which shows a figure clad in dark armour, riding a white horse, and holding a chalice. The image created by artist Frieda Harris appears far more active than that by Pamela Colman Smith in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. The Thoth knight has wings and leaps above waves. The Book of Thoth description says he "represents the fiery part of Water, the swift passionate attack of rain and springs."
A crab emerges from the chalice held aloft: "...the cardinal sign of Water, for aggressiveness."
This isn't a peaceful card, or a peaceful person, although they can seem charming and amiable when you first meet them. However, this is someone in conflict - someone who would like to be placid, even lazy, but the fiery part of their nature makes them "quick to respond to attraction" getting very enthusiastic about things before their attention goes elsewhere. The text in the books sums up:
"Swiftness and violence ill suit a character naturally placid... He tends to mismanage his affairs; and unless good fortune attend him, his whole career will be an unbroken record of failure and disaster. Often his mental "civil war" ends in...madness."
Does that remind you of anyone? If so, be very careful around them. They are easily distracted, so use this to your advantage if possible.
