Divination: Two of Earth from Witches' Wisdom Tarot

I drew a card for the world for the Autumn Equinox using the Witches' Wisdom Tarot and revealed the Two of Earth. This beautiful card image is a mother bear and her cub hybernating in their underground den. A starry sky above shows the constellation Ursa Major. The book that comes with the set calls this card Mother Bear and says: "Here is a mystery, asleep and dreaming."

Real bears give birth below ground in the winter and hybernate until springtime, while the Great Bear is in the nightly heavens. The book continues: "We live and dream between Mother Bear beneath our feet and Mother Bear above our heads."

This card is about maternal blessings, beginnings, self-care, dreamtime, protection and spirit allies. The specific interpretion is given as: "You are at the begining of something new... Look after yourself as if you were your own mother [and]... your own cub. Make commitments to your goals, set your boundaries, and have courage."

Autumn Equinox is the start of when nights are longer than days. We are beginning the season when we need to look after ourselves as the weather gets colder. Many of us will sleep more, and spend more time indoors in warmth and safety. This card represents self care and listening to the needs of our body, but it is also about the importance of our dreams, and how they allow us both introspection and connection to the spirit realm.

The Two of Earth corresponds to the Two of Coins in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. Both are about the importance of balance, and give the message that you are capable of managing the practical issues in your life even if it seems dificult. The card in the Witches' Wisdom emphasises balancing your physical needs with spiritual ones.

If you need to hide away from the world for a while, then do so. But don't give up your dreams, instead pay greater attention to them. In the future, your time will come again to emerge from the darkness into the light of a new spring day.

The Witches' Wisdom Tarot is published by Hay House. You can find my review here: http://www.badwitch.co.uk/2020/10/review-witches-wisdom-tarot-boxed-set.html
