Here's a poem I wrote for Samhain or Halloween.
What is There to Fear?
Light a candle in the dark.
What is there to fear?
But winter's grip
that reaches through
the thinning of the year.Don't believe the lies they tell
that all around is cheer.
Summer is dead
and nights are long
and coldness creeps from here. But there is comfort to be found.
Draw your friendships near.
Burn bright the lights
and tell the tales
That conjure memories dear.

One of my resolutions for 2025 was to write a poem for each of the eight festivals in the Pagan Wheel of the Year, and this is the 7th. You can find links to some others under "previous related posts" below.
You can find other seasonal ideas in my book Pagan Portals - Rounding the Wheel of the Year, published by Moon Books along with my other titles.
