Pagan Eye: Bees and Blossom on a Crab Apple Tree

This photo of blossom on a crab apple tree was taken by Wendy Davies, a member of the Practically Pagan Facebook group. She put the picture on that page after seeing me share Daniela Simina's picture of pink blossom over the bank holiday. Wendy wrote:

"Here’s my crab apple, simply buzzing with bees, hoverflies and bee-flies. Wonderful sights, sounds and scents from the wallflowers under the tree. This time of year is indeed a time of great resurgence."

Seeing all these wonderful photos of flowers, and enjoying the sight of them myself outdoors at the moment, I've decided that I'm going to post as many pictures of spring blooms as I can. April is the month in which the festival of Floralia took place in Ancient Rome, in honor of the goddess Flora. It began on the 27th or 28th of the month and ran for six days. So, from now until after May Day, let's fill this blog with flowers!

My Pagan Eye posts show photos that I find interesting - seasonal images, pagan sites, events, or just pretty pictures. If you want to send me a photo for a Pagan Eye post, please email it to badwitch1234@gmail.com Let me know what the photo shows and whether you want your name mentioned or not. For copyright reasons, the photo must be one you have taken yourself.
